Product line: cimoio compact

Unlike all other product lines, the cimoio compact product line has no specific focus. It is the basis for the product lines in the sense that it represents the core of our training management system (TMS) and learning management system (LMS) cimoio. In other words, it contains the basic module of cimoio with the required portals. Nothing more and nothing less.

This is the basis on which we start discussing with all interested parties and new customers. What else is necessary? What special features does your training business have? These questions and the answers to them usually lead to an expansion in the direction of one of the product lines. That’s why practically none of our customers use just cimoio compact – in other words, a minimal system.

However, because cimoio compact serves as the basis for the four product lines (with the exception of cimoio custom, which enables use for purposes other than learning or training management), we describe here what is possible with all product lines in any case!

Range of functions

The cimoio compact product line provides the basic set of functions on which the other product lines are based.
This means that it contains all the functions relating to training management, learning management and qualification management.

These are:

  • Catalog management
    • Folder structures and metadata for the system’s own search, but also for SEO purposes
    • Images, carousels and videos to animate the offer structures

Interfaces in connection with cimoio custom

Customers who use our product lines can have interfaces built to existing systems as required.
These interfaces can be used either to import data into cimoio or to export data from cimoio. Bi-directional interfaces also exist, where data from another system is enriched and returned to cimoio or vice versa: data from cimoio is transferred to another system, enriched there and then returned to cimoio.

The following is generic information, which is then varied depending on the product line:

  • Initial data procurement
    • Import data from legacy systems
      • Master data (transfer of existing product descriptions and customer, trainer or employee master data)
      • Transaction data (e.g. events, billing data, etc.)
    • Employee data from an HR system
      • Organizational data
      • Hierarchical data (link between manager and team members)
      • Personal data
    • Customer data from a CRM system
      • Organizational data
      • Personal data
  • Ongoing data exchange in the company
    • Billing data to an ERP
      • Quotations, orders, prices, etc
    • Purchasing data to an ERP
      • Inquiries, orders
    • Business transaction data to a CRM
      • e.g. ordering of training courses or participation
    • Learning content from other LMS sources
    • Transfer of catalog data to CMS for display if the cimoio web store and catalog are not used
    • Connectors to communication software (e.g. MS Teams or VITERO)
  • End of operation:
    • Export of the database content

These are interfaces that we have already implemented – in some cases for different IT systems.

We therefore already have a template for practically every use case – but as most IT systems are customizable and therefore also adapted, the following always applies: every interface is unique. Thanks to templates, however, the time required to implement a new interface is significantly reduced.

Industries that cimoio compact helps

cimoio compact is not specific to one or more industries. It can be used in all sectors. With cimoio, STL GmbH has created software over the last few years that maps very complex processes and is virtually equivalent to the level of an ERP for the training business.

It makes particular sense to purchase cimoio if one or more of the following statements apply to you:

  • Your company is active in an industry that is subject to strict regulations and verification requirements for its training measures
  • Your company is:
    • very large (>500 employees)
    • sells training courses on the open market
    • and/or operates internationally
  • Your company has complex training management processes that can no longer be mapped using standard LMS software.
