cimoio User Meeting 2026: Insights into how cimoio continues to evolve with a practical focus

Once again this year, customers and the cimoio team came together for the annual cimoio User Meeting. Around 60 participants took the opportunity to exchange ideas on current developments, new features, and future requirements for cimoio.

The ongoing development of cimoio is shaped by continuous dialogue with our customers – during implementation projects, in day-to-day operations, and through the joint enhancement of existing processes. The User Meeting is the annual event where these developments come together: new features are presented, experiences from projects are shared, and future requirements are explored together.

As in previous years, direct dialogue with and among participants was once again at the heart of the 2026 event. The User Meeting is much more than a presentation of new features: experiences from different projects come together, ideas are developed further, and shared priorities are defined for the next stages of cimoio’s development.

Current developments and new features in cimoio

A central part of the first day was the look at new developments in cimoio. The focus was especially on the current release. The aim was to show how cimoio maps new processes, continues to support existing processes and where features are being added or improved.

Topics included enhancements in the area of shopping cart and internationalization. In addition, cimoio supports the automated creation and sending of legally compliant e-invoices as well as the transfer of billing data to connected accounting systems.

New approaches for demand planning were also presented. They support the structured recording of demands, the derivation of events and the more transparent design of planning processes.

Further insights were provided into developments relating to hybrid events. The approaches presented show how different requirements of in-person and online participants can be mapped in cimoio more easily and more clearly in the future.

Another focus was the creation of the technical foundation for future AI features in cimoio. This created the basis for gradually integrating new AI applications into the platform.

How cimoio develops in dialogue with our customers

Most ideas for new features arise throughout the year – in implementation projects, during the optimization of existing processes or in exchange with our customers during daily operation.

The User Meeting bundles these developments: new features are presented, experiences from a wide range of projects are shared and future requirements are discussed together. The exchange between participants from different industries in particular often opens up new perspectives and provides valuable input for the further development of cimoio.

Artificial intelligence as a future topic

In addition to the current features, the look at future developments also played an important role. Artificial intelligence in particular generated great interest and numerous discussions.

The aim was not to present AI as a finished universal solution. Rather, the focus was on the question of where artificial intelligence can provide meaningful support and which areas of application in cimoio actually offer practical value. AI should not only impress, but should make concrete work steps easier, make knowledge available more quickly and support recurring tasks.

The topic became particularly tangible through several concrete application examples. These included cimona, the AI assistant in cimoio, which can support users directly in the system when they have questions. In the area of reporting, it was also shown how cimona provides context-based support in creating reports in the Report Wizard and can explain existing reports. Another example was the AI-supported generation of e-test questions. The participants showed great interest, especially in practical AI applications.

Workshops: Gathering Ideas and Exploring Requirements Further

The second day of the User Meeting was workshop-oriented. In two groups, the topics “Artificial Intelligence” and “Automation” were discussed.

While the first day mainly focused on current developments, the workshops on the second day offered space to bring together different experiences and jointly discuss future requirements. The participants were able to present their own processes, compare challenges and jointly consider which solutions could be transferred to other areas of application.

This created a shared view of which topics will become particularly relevant in the coming months and how cimoio can continue to develop in a meaningful way.

Workshop "Automation"

At the beginning of the workshop, the automation options already available were presented. These included e-feedback and qualifications, schedulers with customized rules, and BPMN-based process automation.

Many automation capabilities are already available in cimoio today. The greater challenge often lies less in the technical implementation of automation and more in identifying suitable processes and jointly defining meaningful rules.

Requirements were collected and prioritized together. This exchange between participants proved particularly valuable. Different approaches and experiences from other projects provided numerous ideas on which processes could be effectively automated and what prerequisites need to be put in place.

Workshop "AI"

Our team opened the AI workshop with a technical overview of the basic AI infrastructure of cimoio. Current developments were also presented, including the state-funded development project LernFab, from which, among other things, features for the AI-supported creation of learning materials and e-tests as well as a chatbot have emerged.

STL GmbH was responsible for the technical development of the platform in the project and implemented a prototype for AI-supported competence analysis as well as for the generation of individual learning content.

Guest speaker Frank Schröder, project partner for the professional development of AI support and competence analysis, demonstrated tools from the LernFab project using concrete examples. Among other things, an AI-supported learning content generator and a multi-agent chatbot for training professional conversations with AI-based conversation partners were presented. The chatbot used previously uploaded PDF documents as a knowledge base.

In the subsequent workshop, the participants discussed in which areas they could imagine future support through artificial intelligence and which possible applications would offer the greatest added value for their daily work. Four topic areas emerged:

  • Sales support, for example in research and offer preparation
  • Assistance and user support within cimoio
  • Analysis and preparation of data
  • Learning support

The workshops thus formed the connection between the developments presented and the topics that will come into focus in the future. They showed where concrete approaches already exist and where there is still a need for further coordination and development.

The discussions made it clear that the interest was less in general AI promises than in concrete use cases and their added value for everyday work.

Personal exchange in a relaxed atmosphere

In addition to the specialist content, personal exchange was not neglected. After the program at memox Stuttgart, the first evening continued together: with a reception, a guided tour through the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and a subsequent dinner at FRESKO.

These informal conversations in particular offered space to deepen experiences, maintain contacts and take away new impulses.

Thank you for two days of exchange and new impulses

Every year, the cimoio User Meeting forms an important milestone in the joint further development of cimoio. It creates space for exchange about current developments, new requirements and shared future topics. Many of the ideas that emerged will therefore continue to accompany us in the coming months – as concrete further developments, new projects or starting points for further conversations with our customers.

We would like to sincerely thank all participants for the open atmosphere, the many questions and the valuable input. The User Meeting once again showed that cimoio is not only developing technically, but above all in dialogue with the people who work with it every day.
