The approximately 2,000 logistics experts at more than 30 locations worldwide must demonstrate the knowledge specified by the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) (the german federal aviation agency) at all times. For this purpose, qualification profiles with very detailed individual qualifications are used in cimoio to track who currently has what level of qualification and what training efforts the LTLS will have to face in the next planning periods.

Challenge
LTLS has been using the cimoio system and its predecessor products since STL GmbH was founded in 2003. Initially, Lufthansa and its subsidiaries needed a training management system (TMS) to manage numerous employee training courses. Later, a learning management system (LMS) was added to deliver digital learning content efficiently.
The ongoing success of cimoio at LTLS is based on its ability to meet and document the complex requirements of the Federal Aviation Authority (LBA) regulations. For each standard task, LTLS requires finely granulated qualification profiles. Moreover, the system must control exceptions to the standard profile on a small scale, both within the qualification profile and at the level of individual qualifications.
Thanks to cimoio’s TMS and LMS, LTLS can now manage employee training and digital learning content seamlessly. This ensures compliance, transparency, and precise documentation for all training activities.
Solution
STL GmbH has gradually solved several key tasks for LTLS. Initially, the focus was on managing the complex regulations in a training management system (TMS). For this purpose, individual qualifications and groupings were designed as qualification profiles according to the requirements. Next, functions were added to deliver an increasing number of web-based training courses in German and English via a learning management system (LMS) to meet the regulations. Then, the solution was supplemented by the training module. As a result of COVID, the virtual classroom “VITERO” was activated using the Inspire 3 version through the cimoio standard connector.
With the combination of TMS, LMS, and the qualifications, STL GmbH provided the right set of functions from the start to meet LTLS requirements. Moreover, STL GmbH efficiently implemented special requirements arising from regulatory rules. In this way, LTLS can fully meet all documentation obligations. A testament to their satisfaction and trust is that LTLS has repeatedly taken the lead in developing new modules and functions.
